But it serves to illustrate the problem in ways few articles could.<br /><br />If The State cannot defend you from the effects of drug prohibition (after taxing you out the whazoo to the tune of hundreds of billions for years for precisely that purpose), well, then, maybe it's time to have a serious discussion as to how ending the War on Drugs eliminates these situations where your own government cannot protect you from those foreign threats.<br /><br />Because, if it hasn't already happened, some rancher is going to take a few shots at trespassers, and they're bound to return fire with greater volume.
