In response, according to this source, Bradley issued a statement declaring the VP had no authority to suspend him, defending his record in Texas, suggesting the veep committed a felony by suspending him, and threatening a defamation suit.
Some people seem to make friends wherever they go.
This is vintage John Bradley; our man appears in top form.
The President, who is out of the country, was quoted as saying he hadn't reviewed Bradley's suspension but expected the vice president's decision was made in the "best interest of the Republic."
For more on John Bradley's time in Palau, check out this article describing abysmal solitary confinement conditions he defended unsuccessfully against a habeas writ on behalf of the Palau government. The solitary cell in question was in “near total darkness” and “strewn with trash…dank wet magazine pages, and soiled clothes.” In addition, "Water bottles filled with urine were also found in the cell," and “the stench of urine and feces was described as 'overpowering.'” From this perhaps we gain greater insight into why Palau would hire JB in the first place: If you're looking for someone to walk into court and defend that, it requires a certain mentality.
MORE: Via Mark Bennett, check out a cartoon from a Palau newspaper dubbing JB the "Texas Rattlesnake."

Grits,
ReplyDeleteYour pen is a silver tongued devil.
Is Bradley's claim true that he never committed an ethics violation? So in other words, his work on the Michael Morton case was never punished? How is this possible?
ReplyDeleteAll he did was use legal motions as a prosecutor to stymie motions for DNA evidence for a mere six years. Why should that be considered a crime? ;-)
ReplyDeleteLook at his involvement in the Todd Willingham case. We was head of the committee that rubber-stamped the arson evidence that led to an innocent man being executed by the State of Texas.
I guess I need someone needs to explain to me why we need law schools anymore. Much better men, like Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson, dropped out of college and just "read the law." So did Abraham Lincoln with little more than an elementary school education.
Maybe "reading the law," and thus having a passing familiarity with it, would be a better substitute than simply paying your fees, putting in a moderate amount of work, and getting the grade generally considered as acceptable for a graduate degree in law.
John Bradley is a cancer on the legal system. He belongs on Death Row on the Polunsky Unit.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteAnd how many more just like him are out there...
ReplyDeleteAs one of the Abolitionists here in Texas, I do have to say that no one, even John Bradley, Rick Perry or Greg Abbott belong on Death Row. However, I would like to see this scum of society inside a cell block with some dangerous people. No single cell for him. In fact, put in a dorm with men from Williamson County. Bradley ruined plenty of people. When Bradley was hired by the government of Palau, I remember writing that they had to be very hard up for personnel to hire this man. Happy to hear that he is doing so well.

ReplyDeleteNext, will Matt Bingham of Smith county...
ReplyDeleteAmen. Matt Bingham will say whatever it takes to defend a lie. He is as bad or much worse than John Bradley.

BOLO - for a old, fat, white-man with a crapload of Palau cash that's speaking out of the side of his neck. Since he'll stick out like a sore thumb, it shouldn't be long before he's re-settled over in Ellis County and hired to do work Americans aren't qualified to do for $27.50 an hour.
*J.B., oyi mate, may you drown in the sweat of a thousands camels.
This is the very same mentality of former Smith County District Attorney A.D. Clark, III, and later, Clark's first-cousin, Smith County Distrct Attorney Jack Skeen (now a State District Judge in Tyler) and Skeen's consort, former Chief Felony ADA David Eugene Dobbs as they defend my wrongful murder convictiom in the courtoom in 2015.
ReplyDeleteIt's shocking how these cretins could exsist in ANY legal system, Palu or otherwise.
Hey Kerry, if 'you' create a Petition calling for the President of Palau to officially terminate Bradley's employment AND file appropriate criminal charges, you'd have to consider a sister Petition asking the Governor of Texas to revoke his right to return to Texas. Should both balk, a Rider should read that - refusal will result in Petitions calling for a ban on USA taxpayers funds to Palau used to compensate elected and appointed criminals and a call to remove Abbott for coddling criminal cronies.
ReplyDeleteBradly is truly a man without a country in addition to a soul and beating heart.
Thanks
