Should we never incarcerate these types of criminals? What exactly is a non-violent offender? Is it someone who has never committed a violent crime? Is it someone convicted of a non-violent crime but with a history of violence? Is it someone who committed a violent crime but was convicted of a non-violent crime because of plea bargaining?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-76094593265665352712013-12-11T13:45:51.620-06:002013-12-11T13:45:51.620-06:00Grits, I was happy to see the folks over the TAB w...Grits, I was happy to see the folks over the TAB weighing in on a topic / solution to the rigged system that they have advocated on for some time now. Kinda strange they didn't have more to say since the ball just about dropped in their laps. C'mon Bill, you have the floor, take it and convince the old school die hards it's time to put aside old school ways. <br /><br />Regarding those that answered they would rather send them to prison vs. rehabbing and restitution. They should have been asked a follow up Q. Would you agree to put your money where your mouth is by agreeing to pay 20% more in Taxes to further your tuff on crime views that includes putting people in prison for trace elements? The A. would be 'Silence' as they shut the hell up.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-85104150208054858022013-12-11T12:02:20.989-06:002013-12-11T12:02:20.989-06:00@CJP, Touché!@CJP, Touché!Gritsforbreakfasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10152152869466958902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-31535360008070309742013-12-11T11:26:44.790-06:002013-12-11T11:26:44.790-06:00Not so sure about whether those writing laws are e...Not so sure about whether those writing laws are either one or the other...Carole Jean Powellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05058964882570349552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-37865083188914683122013-12-11T06:22:37.187-06:002013-12-11T06:22:37.187-06:00"criminals don't want rehabilitation and ..."criminals don't want rehabilitation and prosecutors don't want rehabilitation"<br /><br />Good thing somebody else writes the laws then, huh?Gritsforbreakfasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10152152869466958902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-72167580990891540712013-12-10T21:15:28.712-06:002013-12-10T21:15:28.712-06:00Big Deal,

Guess what the criminals don't want rehabilitation and prosecutors don't want rehabilitation. %97 percent of all cases are plea bargains and for once offenders and prosecutors are on the same page. Offenders are saying in every courtroom in Texas " What's that Mr. Prosecutor, you want to send me to prison for a chickenshit length of time and I get to count all my 5 for 1 time while I was in jail?
