No one is supposed to have those ugly fences on the top of their pools, and it seems that everyone in the sub with a pool has one of those. My neighbor has one, and I have to look at that hideous thing every time I look out my window. Then there is my other neighbor who has three dogs.
The maximum number of dogs is supposed to be two. I wouldn't mind the three, but two of them are pit bulls who viciously snarl and growl and act like they are going
to eat my dog when they are outside. Even the owners scream at them to stop. It is very unnerving. Then one of the board members is delinquent by 3 years on the dues because she has decided she doesn't need to pay since she is on the board. I can't take the neighbors around here. I was looking for a forum to vent about the jerks around here and I came across this site called http://urajerk.com and I sent all of those idiots on the board and all my lovely neighbors with the ugly pools an anonymous card. LOL I loved it. I know it sounds stupid but I feel better. One out of 83 is a probability of incarceration in jail of 1.2% and in most counties I am familiar with is it between 5% to 10%.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-22917070744161212762008-07-25T12:12:00.000-05:002008-07-25T12:12:00.000-05:00It shocks me and should every citizen in the USA t...It shocks me and should every citizen in the USA to know that
our wonderful country "home of the free" has more people incarcerated than any other country IN THE WORLD. We should be ashamed and we
should LET OUR PEOPLE GO. Give them training and jobs. I know for a fact that anyone convicted, done jail time, even community service for an offense, once it shows up in a background check for a job, then that person is not hired. Personal responsibility indicates to me the ability to function as part of society on a daily basis. That doesn't apply if you sleeping under a bridge or in a burned out building because you have no money, no job and family member have turned their back on you. The system keeps talking about "go forth and be a productive member of socity", when to become a part of that society, you must hasve the ability to withstand background check for jobs. Even the ones that vcome out with a "viable" job skill can get jobs because they can't pass the background check, so what are they to do. Seems like a vicious circle to me, leading right back to prison ro jail.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-81504975871579533452008-07-25T10:01:00.000-05:002008-07-25T10:01:00.000-05:00Are any of us really that surprised? The continued encroachment of the legislature and special interest groups into our constitutionally protected rights is not only a fact of life, but a reality of what is to come. The constant barrage against its own citizens deems a need to replace our elected officials, until we finally find(elect) someone that will actually support and defend the constitution of the United States. The want of the Government to criminalize anything or everything they deem as a hazard to their continued rule it the real crime that occurs each and every day.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-49060616257680426362008-07-24T15:25:00.000-05:002008-07-24T15:25:00.000-05:00My definition of RESPONSIBILITY: retribution (pay...My definition of RESPONSIBILITY: retribution (paying for what you have done wrong) + rehabilitation (doing what it takes to make sure it doesn't happen again). If we (society) do not provide a venue for rehabilitation, then it is my firm belief that we (society) will continue to pay for retribution (incarceration). Metaphorically speaking, we can keep paying rent for the rest of our lives, or we can put a down payment on a long term investment. This investment is paid for the benefit of society, not necessarily for the benefit of the offender. In Texas, we spend $5 million dollars putting a murderer to death, but we could have spent $4.99 million less if we would have provided the preventative services before the murder occured (plus save 2 lives). Rehabilitation saves lives of innocent people. Accountability without rehabilitation = recidivisim.editorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03658875555790939850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-40839724610416008392008-07-24T13:39:00.000-05:002008-07-24T13:39:00.000-05:00When I was in High School, I was told that attende...When I was in High School, I was told that attendence and good grades would result in a well paid job. I looked around that small West Texas town and even at 15 years old, I could see there were no well paid jobs.

Personal Responsibility is only part of the answer. Expectations are created in our society that cannot possibly be realized by everyone. Making criminals of 1 in every 83 citizens is a complete waste. An investment in programs that support people having trouble achieving the American Dream makes everyone richer from both a financial and quality of life viewpoint.

Blaming the victim is arrogant and mean spirited. A great deal of success in our society is based on luck and support. If support does not come from friends and family, it has to come from government.

Anything less is barbaric!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-44028078449016295652008-07-24T11:56:00.000-05:002008-07-24T11:56:00.000-05:00"we've criminalized our social problems"We've CREA..."we've criminalized our social problems"

We've CREATED many criminals and we've CREATED many social problems.

I'm all for more mention of personal responsibility and accountability, but there will always be real and created criminals and social problems.

"We" need to take responsibility and accountability in regard to our real social problems.

The "solution" for all these real or created problems is always they same.

Lock 'em up and throw away the key.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-64429576779660558452008-07-24T11:19:00.000-05:002008-07-24T11:19:00.000-05:00What about "PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY"? The County does not "provide" AA and NA services. It may allow AA and NA volunteers to come in and hold AA/NA meetings. There is a huge difference.Donhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16902834245861000386noreply@blogger.com
