If that happens, the lawsuit Rodriguez v. Mach, in Federal District Court now and set for Status Conference on May 9 will proceed forward, and Texas will have to be sued to drop this horrid program. The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, San Antonio Division has jurisdiction over this case now, with Judge Xavier Rodriguez currently presiding.

This is the Opposition to Defendants' Motion to Dismiss: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5aabd27d96e76f3205f18a55/t/5cb0fc1f9b747a6b0734483a/1555102759087/Opposition+to+Motion+to+Dismiss__Texas+DRP.pdf

Megan M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17453472599600164122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-32914243024056064302019-04-30T17:33:32.207-05:002019-04-30T17:33:32.207-05:00Yes it sucks!

Whitmire and Dan Patrick are already bad mouthing the bill in the press, saying it won't even get a hearing.

Oh, and it's HB 63, not 463. :)Gritsforbreakfasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10152152869466958902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8597101.post-78008856428255822772019-04-29T19:43:09.639-05:002019-04-29T19:43:09.639-05:00FYI, HB 463, by Moody, passed to engrossment today...FYI, HB 463, by Moody, passed to engrossment today.

Rep. Moody offered two amendments; both were adopted. The first amendment eliminates the civil penalty provisions in H.C.S.H.B. 463 and instead makes possession of one ounce or less of marijuana a Class C misdemeanor.

There are some other changes to H.C.S.H.B 463 in that amendment and in the second amendment, but that's the big one.jDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13684899482387463697noreply@blogger.com
