Dallas Police Chief David Brown made a wry observation that the push for police to wear body cameras will lead to some lucrative contracts: “'It makes me want to retire and buy body camera stock,' Brown told an
audience at a Verizon Wireless conference Thursday. 'It makes me want to
sit on the beach and do the Johnny Manziel money sign. Because it’s a
seller’s market.'”
The Texas Legislature ponied up $10 million for body cams this year and local agencies and DA's offices have spent millions more equipping officers with cameras in the last 12 months.

I'm working on a Barrel-Cam that looks like a red dot laser attachment. I only need two more investors with deep pockets and no friggin Sharks are welcome to participate.
ReplyDeleteApple, were are you now that we really need that expertise?
ReplyDeleteUntil we take away the cop's ability to disable his body mounted recording device, nothing will change.
ReplyDeleteWe already have in car video and body mics, but cops routinely disable them to hide their questionable/illegal behavior from future review.
The decision to disable HAS TO BE taken away from the person wearing/using the device.
