Ex-TDCJ flack sues agency over alleged retaliatory firing

Former TDCJ public information office Michelle Lyons has filed a federal lawsuit alleging she was fired in retaliation for revealing information about irregularities in agency time keeping, The Backgate blog reports. This should be interesting. Lyons is a woman who at this point likely knows where a lot of (figurative) bodies are buried.

That’s good use of wording Grits to let readers know it doesn’t address the real bodies that are buried, like the kids in Gatesville.

This is a shame because TDC/TDCJ like to retaliate against Texas tax payers when the feds sue this most interesting of agency’

  3. Lee, The quotation you refer to is from a play, the "The Mourning Bride" (1697) by William Congreve: "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned / Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned."

Unless there are romantic overtones in the story that I'm missing, I don't it's apt. But this one from Bella Abzug might be: "The test for whether or not you can hold a job should not be the arrangement of your chromosomes."

I hope she digs 'em up !!!!!

  6. There is a lot more buried down there in Gatesville Gulags. Crain Unit is the home of retaliation, even though they say they do not retaliate; however, they say a lot of things down there, like don't dig over there and we can do what ever we want to inmates and nobody can do anything about it either.

  7. If you ask me and that is if you ask, Michelle Lyons got what is called "Karma", you see for years she sprewed that TDCJ venom with a straight face and yes that is what is so unbelievable, she was able to sprew the venom with a straight face. Priceless! I believe in Karma and if you asked me, this is a power higher than me coming back to haunt her for all the evil she helped to cover up also. She got what is called KARMA and it is well deserved too. PRICELESS!!!
One day that same KARMA will come back to haunt those evil ones in Gatesville too. PRICELESS!!!!

Hilarious, coming from someone trying to correct someone else.

"The test for whether or not you can hold a job should not be the arrangement of your chromosomes."

Just maybe, depending on the job, the test is whether or not you leave entire words out of your sentences.

There's no indication she was fired because of her gender. Go fish for red herrings somewhere else.

    Rage

  9. Get Some Michelle!!!
Maybe your action, combined with the ongoing Coleman fiasco, will have a positive influence resulting in some much needed reorganization.
I hope that your Travis County jury does you right!

  11. This needs to happen. I only hope they can turn it into a civil rights suite so the individuals themselves can be sued.

  12. For years Michelle Lyon acted in the interests of TDCJ, spewing their lies and coverups like a good ol' boy. Not sure I believe in karma but the chickens do come home to roost. She is disgusting!

  13. Maybe it would have been less offensive to you if she were using a bullhorn to spread her lies like you do, Gloria? How many times have you stood outside the Huntsville Unit proclaiming the innocence of a death row inmate who minutes later admitted their guilt on the gurney? Do you know what a joke you are? Everyone says you are nothing but a professional protestor and that you aren't even good at that. Before you start hurling judgements at others, you might want to clean your own house first.

  14. She did sprew venom and lies and covered up a corrupted agency and now she thinks she is a victim. TDCJ eats it's own, always has and always will. This has nothing to do about anyone else, Lyons, ran with a bad crowd and now she has been sold out, just like criminals when they sell out so-called friends to get a better plea deal.
She got what she deserved!!! What comes around goes around and this should be awake up call for those human rights abusers in Gatesville Gulags, one day you will be hung out to dry also!!! Crain Unit especially!!! PRICELESS!!!

  15. That last statement was so ignorant. Lyons was a professional Public Information Officer. Her jobs was to keep TDCJ's image positive and give information to the media in a timely manner. She understood the media, because she stated out as a reporter. She was the best PIO's TDCJ ever had.

The issue is TDCJ administration does not care for its employees or inmates and will use a system of retaliation to drive home the point the Good Ole Boys are still in charge. This system mirrors the Texas political system's Good ole Boys structure which is ran by a few billionaire elite thru their bought off politicians who look out after big oil, insurance, and big business, while the rest of us get screwed. Give them hell Lyons!!!

I sure hope they look good at Giddings State school where certain employees were paid and never showed up for work. One JCO would show up 10+ min late every day and clock in 15 min early and did so for years!
