Wow, do you think they will FINALLY make a DA do what it is supposed to do? I doubt it, but hey, you never know right?

The Legislators and Criminal Justice Committee had better make some changes to the Deferred Adjudication sentences. After the fine is paid and the sentence complete, this is not to remain on a person's record. What is it about this "they" do not get???

Can somebody educate me on this? I know several cases that were given deferred adjudication...but years after all is said and done it is still on the record, creating havoc with job hunting, apartment leasing, etc. What's the deal?

My understanding is that one must have an attorney petition the court for complete removal from the record.

Can someone explain to me why in Williamson County a person placed on deferred adjudication for 5 years can have tech violations relating to ability to find a job, pay for fines, fees and their very own specialized no receipt treatment) and Wilco gives them 10 to 20?

Bigger question is why do the treatment providers (substance/alcohol, anger management, BIP, sex offender treatment) used by Williamson County Corrections & Supervisions Department demand cash only and refuse to give receipts?????

The group providing most of Wilco's treatment needs is the Center for Cognitive Education, Owner Fred Willoughby. One of his associates is Dean Eddy, a former Wilco CSCD employee. Dean Eddy's wife is currently a wilco probation officer, Ellie Eddy. Other associates, Jean Berry, John Delarosa, Angela Delarosa, and others.

Center for Cog Ed address: 503 W. Main Street (owned by Tamiro Ventures aka Dr. Mi Yun(Mary Ann)Choi appointed to the TX Dept of Health & Human Services in 2007 by Gov Perry)

Center for Cog Ed working in Williamson, Bell & McLennan Counties.

The centers owner, Willoughby has sponsored several social events for WilCo CSCD such as Christmas Parties, Award Luncheons, etc. Too chummy for my taste.

This is ONLY for Class C Misdemeanors currently. When the law was originally created it was to give first time offenders a second chance basically. However over the years, the Texas Lege has funked with the law alot so that only as high as a class C can have their records 'sealed'. There was a great push last year due to alot of outside pressure, but the measure was ultimately nay voted. Probably due to the lege realizing that so many people could get their records cleared the 'gestapo' wouldn't be able to track them anymore. Currently, any DA taken in this state registers as 'guilty' due to the good ole boy system we have of legislating guilt from Austin.

4:49, These practices are also typical in Parker,Johnson, Tarrant, Erath counties. There are many on deferred that are violated and revoked because of their inability to pay. This mostly comes from those in treatment for alcohol/substance abuse, sex offender. Treatment providers like shawn braun and his group, jan keith and others in this area also refuse to hand out receipts for cash payments. This allows these providers to make claims that payment was not made and those in their groups have no way to prove it. Deferred adjudication is a freaking joke and you can be revoked for your inability to pay.
