Priorities

The headline from the Victoria Advocate declaring that the Texas Legislature prioritized mental health treatment over incarceration is almost Orwellian.

The bill they're touting will add $18 million or so statewide for mental health treatment over the next biennium. The prison system's biennial budget tops $7 billion.

Why is there a secret prison called civil commitment? where the men are diagnosed with a Mental Behavior Abnormality, by doctors the State paid to process these men. They are being kept and placed in therapy in a program that is not Stable...The State is paying millions for these men to be kept.Senator Whitmire is a part of this and it is a Program thats costing the Tax payers millions. This Program is Renamed to TCCO. It is due to prior as it was run the case workers and therapist were taking these mens payments and that money was never found. Also the case workers were working out of their car and nobody was clocking in or out, but the State paid them.Meanwhile these men go through different Therapist every week, how stable is this Program. We the People need to Remove Senator Whitmire due to he is Draining our Tax Payers Money!!! We need Trustful People,NOT SENATOR WHITMIRE.

He's up for reelection, 2:48, so I suppose you could try. But however passionate you are about the topic, if he were to be unseated, I sincerely doubt it would be over this issue.

Financially that's akin to saying I prioritized healthy eating because I bought a carrot this year. But if anything other than "throw away the key" bought their reps some love, I guess that's a positive.

02:48:00 FYI it's not a secret. It's located in Littlefield,Tx for sex offenders after they have completed their sentance that are considered to still be a threat to socity because of the danger of reoffending.Guess you know that. To my knowledge only one has ever been released Judges are very reluctant to release these inmates because of the threat they pose. No it's not about Whitmire. TDC is not known fot the quality of it's treatment programs. I know because I have worked in a number of them. They have no out side over sight and contractors really are in it just for the $ money.Doubt that any of this helps you however.
