The Two-Millionth Grits Reader

It took almost five years to get there, but this afternoon Grits for Breakfast surpassed the two-million visitor mark, according to SiteMeter. Lately the blog's been averaging about 1,800-2,000 unique visitors per weekday. Thanks to everyone for reading!

Grits' five-year anniversary will be October 6; maybe between these two milestones there needs to be some sort of celebratory fiesta, whaddya think?

I suggest the next time all the cummunist, socialists, terrorists, radical libs, full mooners, spoon benders, UFO'ers, retired Mossad agents, DEBKA file readers and lefty dead-enders have their combined annual conference in the Evil Empire (Austin), Grits readers/contributors have a called meeting with them and have a massive demonstration seeking TRUE justice and one world government under the jurisdiction of the United Nations. Might even invite the TYC bitchers and complainers. (smiley)

Congratulations on your 2 millionth reader. You've earned your following the hard way -- one blog at a time. Your consistently illuminating and well written columns have not only attracted many readers, they've also helped raise the bar for other journalists covering criminal justice issues.

Congratulations Grits!!!! The blog not only serves as role model for journalists, it also educates and informs readers with substantive discussion of a wide ranges of perspectives on justice questions.

Keep up the great work. GFB is a beacon of light in Texas.

I'm delighted to be one of the regular daily readers.

The information I've read in this blog has really opened my eyes to the problems in the criminal justice system.

I expect you'll have 3 or 4 million readers before much longer. This blog is a true public service in Texas!

I think I'd kick half your readers in the nuts at a gathering.

Thank you Mr. Henson, for opening my eyes just a bit more to the many major problems lurking in the Texas Judicial system! Now that the system has affected me personally (a very good friend is incarcerated at this time basically because he had a record and "they" needed to put someone away...) I am seeing the gross misuse of power by those who should be stripped of any power over the system but I'm sure won't be any time soon.
I can't wait to get into my email each day to see what new articles you have put up here and see what everyday people, like me, have to say about them.
Thanks again and please keep up the great work!
p.s. why the name "Grits for Breakfast?" I happen to love grits, but I was just curious... :-) Sonja C.

You should note for the record that 1,999,950 of those 2 million think you are an idiot.
