SCOTUS to hear TX DNA case next week
The US Supreme Cout next week will hear oral arguments in a Texas death penalty case where the defendant, Hank Skinner, claims innocence and seeks DNA testing. Previewing the case, SCOTUSBlog says "it is tempting to state what seems obvious: when a man’s life or death depends on it, and the evidence still exists, why not just test it?"

I'm pretty sure Skinner's not asking the state to pay for the testing, and it costs taxpayers a damn sight more to appeal to the US Supreme Court than it would to just test the evidence.
Plus, if it really is his the appeal is shut down fro the start.
What other motivation can you manufacture, 6:20?
Rage
Numerous people, most notably http://www.chromosomal-labs.com/ have offered to pay for the testing.
