Until next week

Off to attend the Drug Policy Alliance's conference on the west coast, where I'm scheduled to speak at a workshop on the subject of combating Byrne-grant funded drug task forces. (See Grits' Texas drug task force coverage.) Until then, catch up reading past Grits offerings below, or check out the fine bloggers listed in the right hand column. If all goes as planned I'll be back in the blogging saddle next week. Thanks for stopping by!

Better and healthier all the way around to spend your time with "tree huggers and bleeding hearts"...and yes, even puffing and passing, than spending any toxic time at all with overbearing, hateful, rude, mocking, ignorant, energy sucking, arrogant asses.

Good luck on the trip to the west coast, we'll keep your blog warm for you.

Yes Hope, I agree especially when those toxic people comment anonymously. Like terrorists, they hide and fling thier little word bombs and lay in the weeds like the snakes they are. I guess some people are not creative enough to comment intelligently and try to be part of the solution, they would rather be part of the problem. Too bad.

Have a good trip.

Just curious, several years ago a small southern state (name intentionally excluded) got Byrne grant money to fund defender services noting that you can't have more prosecutions without providing defender services. Put another way, it is unfair to a state's taxpayers to increase the number of prosecutions without also paying for the defender services that otherwise would have to be paid for by state taxpayers.
