Women's theater in jail

Here's an interesting sounding women's theater project in Austin sponsoring a program at the Travis County jail:
Conspire Theatre is a sponsored project of the Austin Circle of Theaters, a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Our first project was a five week theatre workshop in Travis County Correctional Facility (Del Valle, Texas) with women inmates. We played games, created scenes, wrote poems and monologues, and ended the project with a performance for other inmates and staff. Katherine Craft and Meg Brooker were the co-facilitators. Katherine Craft was so inspired by the project that she founded Conspire Theatre and will continue to work with incarcerated and marginalized women, both at Travis County Correctional Facility and elsewhere.
These gals are clearly passionate about the project, and their home page is essentially a blog by the founders following the project's work.

Thanks for mentioning us! We just finished our second five week project at Travis County Correctional Complex. I kept a complete journal about it from day one that you can read on the site.

I enjoy reading your site - thanks again!

What a wonderful idea. I'm so glad you can get through the walls and touch people's lives in a fun, meaningful and healing way...

Fantastic! Anything that offers a different way of expresssion and the possibility to think like someone else for a while has to be a good thing. Well done :)
