Sprint: 50 million customers, 8 million law enforcement requests for GPS data last year

Check out this must-read blog post from a grad student out of Indiana University about law enforcement's growing, everyday use of personal data held by companies and the disturbing lack of documentation that makes it all hard to track. Interesting to note that this type of thing has been a boon to foreign communications and ISP providers. Especially, with oversees corporations fearing this type of scrutiny. Much to the dismay of those national security types.
