And you believed them?

Dr. Bob Deuell, whose district includes part of my hometown of Tyler, is one of my favorite Republican state senators, and not just because he sits in playing drums in jazz sessions with the house band at the Elephant Room. Here's Deuell telling it like it is to the UT Austin President:
"The angst we have now and the hard feelings we have now are because you've already exceeded what you led us to believe [tuition hikes would be]," Sen. Robert Deuell, R-Greenville, told University of Texas at Austin President Larry Faulkner. "Many of us thought we were misled, and we were misled."
Yes, you were, sir. Remember it.
