Deputies allegedly in pocket of 'outlaw motorcycle gang'

Having yesterday highlighted the case of a federal probation officer allegedly providing intelligence to smugglers from a drug cartel, I should mention another case identified by Drug War Chronicle out of the Texas South Plains featuring similar allegations:
In Lubbock, Texas, two Hockley County sheriff's deputies were arrested last Friday as part of a 110-count federal indictment aimed at the Aces and Eights outlaw motorcycle gang for a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy. Deputies Gordon Bohannon and Jose Quintanilla are accused of providing gang members with information that hurt efforts to shut down the conspiracy. They and the other 28 defendants are all charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of meth, which carries a mandatory minimum 10 year prison sentence. Other defendants face additional charges.
The idea of deputies in rural Hockley County operating in league with an "outlaw motorcycle gang" reminds me of the plot of the TV show Sons of Anarchy.

Inevitably such incidents are treated in the press as isolated cases that aren't indicative of any broader problem, but taken together the string of corruption cases we've witnessed in Texas has been both remarkable and alarming.

Aces and Eights is a farm team for the Bandidos. That's who's pocket they're in. There's many a Texas lawman doing business with the red and gold.

This never ceases to amaze me. drugs, corruption, politics, money, and lawmen go hand-in-hand....Always....especially more so in the states bordering Mexico. This war can not and will not ever be won.

Aces and Eights Motorcycle Gang Busted! Now who's going to do the toy run this December. It is hard to believe those boys are into the drug business. Well I guess they went into business competing with the U.S. Government which was a bad idea. That reminds me, whatever happed over the CIA jet crashing with several tons of uncut cocaine on board headed for the U.S. a few months ago?

Decriminalize drugs and sell them with a tax added like cigarettes. Save millions on the War on Drugs and collect big tax dollars. The drug cartels would die over night if this was done but there is way too much money in drugs for the big money people to kill the back market in drugs.

Every time the government makes things like drugs and guns illegal they create a massive black market while limiting people's freedoms. The politicians are not stupid, they just act like it. They get their share of the black market money for passing laws to create the black markets.

Seriously, how much has changed since the cowboy days in the Lone Star? Huh? Corruption, bribes, lawlessness and a pervasive independent attitude that we're right and everyone else is wrong. God HELP Texas!

I'm glad to see that the cops have gotten out of the business of bashing defenseless gays into comas, ala Rainbow Lounge, and are back in the business of bribery/corruption where they belong.

Awwwwww. Did I hit a nerve? JERK!

I agree with Boyness. Texas has so many idiot cowboy types at every level of government that if you are not alarmed, you should be. It starts with the retard Rick Perry, who believes he is Sam Houston reincarnated, fighting to maintain independence from the union, so Texas can remain a sovereign country. The law is whatever the territorial governor and his lawman say it is. Yee-fucking-ha.

Okay folks, I hear lots of beating arournd the bush and nobody is talking about what is important. A community had a serious problem that had been going on for years, so the best invesiagtors and law enforcement officials in the world (ATF,FBI,DEA)along with the DPS(one of the best state agencies in the country, joined forces and ended this crime ring when nobody else could. These guys are heros and you all should be greatful for what they do but most people just bash them until the time comes that they need their help.

Also, on the comment about the cops motorcycle group, I couldn't agree moree with you. Cops don't need to be riding around looking like these thugs.

Any updates yet on that steroids scandal in Plano connected with the police?

The Bandidos MC is a club of individuals who enjoy riding with good friends. The Bandidos MC does not look to cause or start trouble. The Bandidos MC is not a drug gang and can't be held responsible for lesser clubs who have claimed the Red and Gold. We may live different lives than you, but different does not neccessarily mean bad. Do not tarnish a good name.

Haha Bandido Jumper makes it seem like they are a bunch of angels, yet signs his name 1%er. If you don't know what that means look it up!

I am not from the same club as bandido jumper but I never heard him say anything about them being any better than anyone else and just told everyonethat his club isn't responcible for other clubs or even your dumbass. he said they may live their lives different than some. and as far as what 1%er means you would have no idea except for what you only want to read and hear. guess that makes you a 1%er to.1% of the morons on here who think they know what they are talking about.

I don't know of anyone patched up with Los Carnales that is a wanna be cop,and don't know where anyone would get that kind of mis-info. Were they possibly thinking of the gunslingers? That is the lubbock group make up of police officers.
