Take Grits' poll in sidebar: Did 2007 legislation improve TYC or make things worse?

Many of you have noticed I'm trying out a new (to me) tool on Blogger - a little one-question reader poll in Grits' sidebar. For the initial poll question, just because I knew a lot of you would have an opinion, I went with, "Did the Texas Legislature improve the Texas Youth Commission with SB 103 and other bills in 2007 or make things worse?"

I set the poll to run for a week and with one day left, 145 Grits readers have answered at the time of this writing. If you haven't done so, there's one more day to let us know your opinion. I'll post the results for discussion when we're done, and thanks to all who've participated!

"And until editors and producers hold their writers and on-air talent to higher standards of journalistic integrity, you can expect bloggers to continue doing it for them."

I agree with this post over at http://gritsforbreakfast.blogspot.com/

Q: Why has Brownwood's KXYL refused to bring on the air of Central Texas the architects of SB 103 to defend and explain their work/support/funding, etc. of this TYC Legislation. This Legislation has been labeled by JR Williams as "the worst Legislation ever written." Why does KXYL appear to want to avoid facing "on air" those they have accused of authoring and supporting "the worst Legislation ever written." ?

8:51,

Who is JR Williams?

Who annointed John Bradley king of all? He must look in the mirror every morning and say, "How great I am!" He needs to stay out of the Governor's office and take care of his own problems in his district until hopefully, he is defeated!!!

I wish some of this made sense to us normal trolls.
