Maquiladoras and immigration
On Huevos Rancheros this morning, I discussed the decline in textile manufacturing jobs in the maquiladora industry, arguing that "the success of the maquiladora plants can simultaneously be blamed, in part, for the failure to control immigration at the border."
I got to thinking about the topic after writing a piece earlier this week about free trade and Mexico in response to Brad DeLong.
