Evaluating Texas corrections: Links to TDCJ Sunset hearing coverage

The Sunset Advisory Commission evaluates all Texas state agencies once every 12 years to determine whether they continue to serve a purpose, and to give legislators an opportunity for comprehensive oversight and possible restructuring. This year they're evaluating Texas' prisons and community supervision systems run out of the Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
